About Storyteller and Entertainer Alton Russell – “The Georgia Tale Teller”
Born in Columbus, Georgia, Alton Russell is a true Son of the South who loves the great State of Georgia like no other.
Well known as The Georgia Tale Teller, Alton Russell has spent many years traveling across the country telling stories, entertaining children and adults of all ages, and having fun. His stories have been well received by schools, churches, businesses, non-profit organizations and various private social events. He also has served as MC for Atlanta Braves baseball games.
Alton has been very involved for many years in the Georgia Royal Rangers, a ministry to boys, serving as Camps, Events and Production Coordinator where he was involved in speaking, storytelling, and producing the annual Royal Rangers Boys Camp with over 800 boys attending.
Stories about cowboys and the mountain men of the pre-1840 era are Alton’s favorites. He is still known to play cowboys at special events with his friends Cowboy Bill and the Los Pistoleros Gang. Alton also plays cowboys and works with an exciting cowboy show, “Have Wagons, Will Travel.” This group of singing cowboys, storytellers, chuck wagon cooks, vendors, and gun fight reenactors are always fun and will make your event one not to forget. Alton has even been known to show up at Halloween story times as the undertaker, using his 7’measuring stick checking out who will fit in the casket. It is always surprising and fun for all … and sometimes a little scary.
Alton’s moto: “If it ain’t fun, I ain’t agonna do it”
